If you are current king living in rented accommodation you at wondered whether it is worth spending money on decorating and doing it up. It may be that this accommodation is only temporary and so you don’t want to spend any money on it as you won’t be there in 6 months time, but if you are on a long term let and have no plans to move soon then you may want to consider doing it up. Some rented properties can be quite dated and the landlord may not do it up before they come to let it out. Although th house should be liveable, it may very well not be to your taste but often the landlord won’t fork out on redecorating if there is nothing really wrong with the old decor(looking dated often isn’t a good enough reason for them to change it).

You could however approach the landlord or letting agent and ask them if you are able to make changes to the property such as painting abs wallpapering. They may want to know exactly what you are planning on doing in there first and even what colours you are going to be using. Some landlords say you are fine to decorate it however you like as long as afterwards it can all be  put back to magnolia.
