Turning your dated kitchen in to your dream kitchen
Posted on November 30, 2020 at 2:26 pm
A kitchen is a very important part of the home. Many people do not realise actually how much time they spend in their kitchen every day. It may not only be a place to do cooking and cleaning but it can also be a great place to socialise. Many discussions are had in the kitchen whilst someone is preparing tea or round the table if you have a dinning area or breakfast bar in there.
Sometimes we neglect our kitchens and focus more on rooms which we see as places to relax in such as bedrooms and living rooms, but actually transforming a kitchen can have a hugely positive effect on your life.
Everyone wants to make their life that little bit easier. A fitted kitchen can ensure you have enough room for everything you want and need and it is laid out in such a way that it is not only aesthetically pleasing but also very practical.
Simply having enough worktop space to prepare meals can really help take the stress out of cooking and actually make it enjoyable again. If everything in the kitchen has its own place and is built in to the design it makes it easier to keep it looking clean and fresh.

Home Personalisation in Winter
Posted on November 18, 2020 at 10:11 pm
Every season can be a season to carry out focused home improvements and make your environment your own. In winter, your requirements will be very different to in the summer months, when you may instead want to focus on things like your garden and your outdoor space, and how to bring it into your central living space. In winter, you will want your home to feel cosy and welcoming, so that it is a space where you can snuggle up and relax.
Here are some home personalisation ideas:
- Get a log burner or stove. This is the most perfect aesthetic enhancement as well as offer the practical benefit of added warmth.
- If you can’t have a log burner, you can have an electric stove instead.
- Install a rooflight. Sunlight is more important than ever during winter – you’ll want to get as much as possible into your home so that it doesn’t feel dreary.

Why a Glass Room is the Right Choice in 2020
Posted on October 25, 2020 at 2:48 pm
House styles and fashions are changing all the time – the kinds of patterned sofas and floral prints we saw in the 90s are no longer something we’d choose for our homes. But one trend looks like it might be here to stay: the trend for more natural light. This is becoming an increasing priority for anybody doing work to their home and it is clear to see why; more light makes aesthetics instantly better.
A glass room is a home extension that’s built primarily from glass, so you can’t get much more natural light! This is a great modern choice for extending a home now, and it will be an excellent choice in the future too. Natural light as a home improvement factor is here to stay, way beyond 2020. If you choose to build a glass extension, you will be able to enjoy it for many more years into the future.

Adding an extension to your home
Posted on September 24, 2020 at 1:04 pm
If you are in love with your home but simply do not have enough space then you may wish to add an extension on. This may be a new extension built up from the ground or you may decide to build upon a garage for example. If you do decide you want to build upon a garage then you will need to ensure that the foundations were dug deep enough to support this. If not, you may need to knock down the garage and start again from scratch.
An extension can totally transform a house. You can add another bedroom or increase your living room / kitchen if you are extending the ground floor. You may lose space outside, but this is often worth it to have additional living space. Not only can an extension improve your living situation it can also add value to your home should you come to sell it in the future.
Be sure to apply for and get all the correct planning permission prior to starting the project as if you build without this you could be asked to take it down which would be at your own cost too.

Preparing your Conservatory for Summer
Posted on July 29, 2020 at 3:57 pm
As summer approaches, you can expect the exact kind of weather where you might be wanting to get more use out of your conservatory. People imaging sunlight streaming in, having breakfast, relaxing, reading a book, and generally relaxing inside their conservatory, with lovely views over their garden. However, the temperatures can often soar when it’s sunny outside, causing a conservatory to become uncomfortable.
If you take action now, you can make your conservatory a haven for the summer months, whilst still enjoying all of the sun. Think about installing blinds, so you can block out the sun and let it in as you wish. A more major step would be to replace the roof – old glass and polycarbonate roofs contribute to rising temperatures, and a tiled roof or solar roof will temper this heat and make it much more pleasant inside. This way, you can enjoy the heat and manage the temperature at the same time.
